HyperX Memory Is Now Kingston FURY: How to Find the Replacement for Your HyperX RAM

If you are trying to buy more of the HyperX memory already in your PC or laptop, you may find the part number is no longer available. That is because Kingston renamed its HyperX memory range Kingston FURY in 2021, after the HyperX gaming peripherals brand was sold to HP. The memory itself is still designed and made by Kingston, and the FURY range is the direct replacement.

Which FURY range replaces my HyperX memory?

How to read the part number

Kingston part numbers follow a simple pattern, and the speed and timings carry straight across from HyperX to FURY. For example:

  • HX426S15IB2/8 ? HX = HyperX, 426 = 2666MT/s, S = SODIMM, 15 = CL15, IB = Impact Black, /8 = 8GB
  • KF426S15IB/8 ? KF = Kingston FURY, then exactly the same: 2666MT/s, SODIMM, CL15, Impact, 8GB

A K2 in the part number means a kit of two modules (for example K2/32 = 2 × 16GB), and K4 means a kit of four.

Can I mix FURY with my existing HyperX memory?

In most cases, yes, as long as the type (DDR3/DDR4), form factor (DIMM or SODIMM), speed and voltage match. When modules of different speeds are mixed, all of them run at the speed of the slowest module. For the most stable result, we recommend replacing modules as a matched kit.
